Dan DiDio Has a New Job in the DC Universe
Early this year, Dan DiDio was let go as Publisher of DC Comics. It was quite the thing. He was, however, allowed to keep writing his Metal Men comic book until its planned end with its twelfth issue, drawn by the rather excellent Shane Davis. Today's Metal Men #7, however, indicates that both Dan DiDio – and DC Comics editorial – at least have a sense of humour about the whole affair. As the Metal Men, trying to experiment with their own humanity, visit a bar for a drink. And who should be working behind the bar?
It's not that funny a story. But now its canon. Dan DiDio is a character in the DC Comics Universe, working behind a bar, serving whoever and whenever. It's not the first time that Dan DiDio has appeared in the DC Universe, at one point Harley Quinn had quite the problem with him. Or at least his plans for DC Comics.
Well, that should keep him going until August at least. Thankfully the coronavirus pandemic has not hit the DC Universe continuity so he won't be furloughed from that position either. Still, bard do get smashed up a lot in the DC Universe.
Metal Men #7 is published today and tomorrow from DC Comics.
