DC Relaunch: Dargaud To Publish DC In France
Bleeding Cool reported recently that Media Participations had grabbed the rights from Panini to publish DC Comics titles in France. And had employees of Panini e-mailing in to find out more.
Well, as Paris Comic Con opens today, it's been announced Dargaud, owned by Media Participations, and recognised as the largest comics publisher in France, will be publishing all DC titles from the 1st of January 2012. Dargaud are best known for publishing Asterix, Blueberry, Blacksad, Lucky Luke, XIII, Blake And Mortimer and so much more. They have never published super hero comics, but that's all about to change.
And this will include monthly newsstand titles, which some had feared may have been discontinued as Media Participations don't have a big connection with that market.
The Panini newsstand DC titles have always sold less than the Marvel titles, also published by Panini. Will some true competition, and the DC Relaunch help change that situation?
The game is on.
