Our fast-paced Editorial Department in a San Diego-based Publishing/Entertainment company has an immediate opening for an Editor. Reporting to the Editor in Chief, this position coordinates and edits content for the publication of several comic book series. It interacts with many departments within the company, creators, licensors and the creative team to produce the publication on time and with accuracy. Therefore, solid communication (both written and verbal), multi-tasking and organizational skills are critical to success.

Required Qualifications:

• 4-5 years of experience working in an Editorial department

•Bachelor's degree or comparable experience

•Eligible to work in IDW Publishing's San Diego offices; no telecommuting option is available for this position.

•Excellent organizational, verbal, and written communication skills

•Strong knowledge of and interest in the comic-book industry

•Maintain strict monthly schedules on comic-book titles, including anticipating challenges and finding timely, relevant solutions

•Must be extremely detail-oriented, able to both line-edit and copy-edit

•Strong Mac skills, including Word, Excel, Keynote/PowerPoint, and Photoshop

Comics Editor, YA & Casual Content – Webtoon Entertainment Inc.

We are looking for a comics Editor who is a pop culture fanatic with both the creative and logistical chops to source and develop compelling original content aimed primarily at our female, 14-24 audiences. The Editor will be responsible for managing and editing a variety of series sourced from external pitches, as well as series elevated to featured from our Discover platform.

The Editor knows when to get out of the way and when to step in, and is a talented problem-solver who isn't easily rattled. The ideal candidate will have experience working in digital media in a content role, and have relationships with content creators, writers, and artists who are active in this market, with an understanding of comics production.

Candidates must have a deep knowledge of and passion for ALL types of comics as well as demonstrate an understanding of current content trends on social media and the app marketplace that appeal to a youth market.

Candidates MUST have experience sourcing and managing content, either in print or digital, for a variety of genres and day to day experience working with comic creators, with published work (online or print) available to review.

This position reports to the Head of Content for LINE Webtoon and will work closely with the Webtoon marketing team and other groups across the Webtoon ecosystem. Marvel Comics

Assistant Video Editor- Video Comics

Marvel is looking for an Assistant Video Editor to join the Video Comics production team. Based in the New York office, this position will play an integral supporting role in the creation of Marvel's video comics product, especially during post production. The ideal candidate will have the skills to assist with creating motion graphics, VFX, editing, and exporting. The ability to coordinate and manage timelines, assets, and notes with multiple stakeholders are also a must.
Responsibilities

The Assistant Video Editor will work with the rest of the video comics team to edit and animate assets from the Publishing Group into engaging and entertaining video experiences that will be released on an ongoing basis. This position will be responsible for prepping assets for ingestion, coordinating schedules, notes, and correspondences, and editing sections or full episodes of a video comic series.
