Eric Orchard Hospitalised By Police 'Mistake'

Eric Orchard is well known as a meek, mild illustrator of comics and children's books such as Maddy Kettle. But yesterday things took a very nasty turn. He began by posting on Facebook, from hospital,

I got beat up today. Busted up nose etc. three guys did it. Please send good thoughts.

He later elaborated, after much concern and questioning from friends and fans,

It was police and it was a misunderstanding.

Yes. Three policemen beat me up.

they slammed my head against the wall

It was terrible. My head was slammed into a wall giving me a terrible nosebleed than three of them piled on me.

They also threatened to shoot me. It was a nightmare. 

As more people expressed concern and worries, Eric placated them saying,

I'm ok everyone! Just scared and missing my family.

But he continued to talk about his ordeal.

Was beat up by three people lice today. Head slammed into wall. Threatened to be shot. All for a misunderstanding

Never back up from a police who is talking to you. It can be construed as resisting arrest.

Apparently, whoever the police thought Eric Orchard was, he wasn't the person in question. But it may be worth pointing out his Patreon page at this stage.

Maybe he might be able to afford a lawyer…
