Expanding Anno Dracula – A Look Inside 1895: Seven Days In Mayhem

It was announced back in October, but now we're seeing some of the first art for Titan Comics's adaptation of Kim Newman's Anno Dracula.

The novel series is based on the Bram Stoker world but where Dracula kills Van Helsing and there aren't enough men to stop him. He escapes with Mina, turning her into one of his many brides and he continues to spread vampire throughout England, eventually marrying Queen Victoria and turning England into a police state. But Dracula ends up being an important yet side character with the novels focusing on historical moments changed by the alternate history like the hunt for Jack the Ripper and the tale of the Bloody Red Baron. Each novel taking a different era.

In the comic series written by Newman and with art by Paul McCaffrey, it focuses on 1895, ten years after Dracula has taken over Great Britain. But radical forces are gathering to oppose the undead tyrant. Kate Reed, vampire journalist, takes a seat on the revolutionary Council of Seven Days, though she learns that the anarchist group harbors a traitor in its midst. The Grey Men, Dracula's dreaded secret police, have been ordered to quash all resistance to the rule of the arch-vampire.

Anno Dracula – 1895: Seven Days In Mayhem is an original story that takes place in the novel universe.
