Frank Cho Draws Harley Quinn And Poison Ivy For SDCC
Fan favorite artist Frank Cho posted on his Apes & Babes website the other day a rough sketch of two female characters with the note:
Here's something I'm cooking up for San Diego Comic Con next month. I'm liking how the figures are flowing, and hoping to have the inks done soon. I'll post the final image this weekend.
The characters are the ever popular duo of Harley Quinn and Poison Ivy.
And true to his word, Cho wrapped up the inks and posted them to his page.
Cho commented on the drawing and figuring out just how to make Harley look:
Done! I've spent this nice Father's Day finishing up this Harley Quinn and Poison Ivy pin-up in peace and quiet, something I needed after a hectic week of chaos.
When I was drawing this piece, I was surprised by the number of different costumes Harley Quinn had. The real challenge was not drawing the figure or the attitude of the characters but which costume to choose for Harley Quinn. Overall, I had fun drawing this pin-up and I'll probably do more in the future.
This original art measures 14″ x 21″, and will be for sale at San Diego Comic-Con.
Cho didn't say how much he would be asking for the original art nor if he had plans on making it into a print so more than one person could take the image home with them. So if you want the original piece, you may want to contact him prior to the show.
