Free Beer and Comic Book Lettering at Orbital in London Tonight
This is the final weekend for the Comic Book Lettering gallery at Orbital Comics in London. Tonight, a number of the contributors to the gallery will be in attendance – but not for a signing. They are there to drink beer. With you.
Kicking off after hours from 7pm tonight, there will free drinks to invite fans in from the London cold. And this will include Orbital Comics-branded craft beer from the folks at Bianca Road Brewery, with label art designed by Orbital's own Joe Jinks.
The gallery features the work of Comicraft's John Roshell & Richard Starkings, Rian Hughes, Tom Muller and Hassan Otswane-Elhaou, as well as tributes to classic comic book letterers of the twentieth century and a potted history of the discipline.
And contributing artists to the show will also be present at the special closing event tonight. Here's a little look at some of the pieces on display…
And a little look at the beer.
Made in celebration of the 10th anniversary of the Orbital Gallery there are two flavours to choose from L.A. Bloods (A fruity, refreshing summer seasonal, packed with blood orange juice and orange zest for genuinely fruity aromas) and Tropicali IPA (Bianca Road's tropical summer special – lavishly dry-hopped with Citra and Amarillo).
