Goosebumps' R. L. Stine Announces He's Working For Marvel Comics

A generation of horror fans cut their teeth on author R. L. Stine's Goosebumps series, a set of horror books for young readers with shocking twists and strange happenings. If you grew up in the 90s, you likely read the books, or perhaps watched the TV show that adapted them. If you grew up after that, you may have seen the recent film inspired by the book series with Jack Black.

Today, R.L Stine answered questions on Reddit/r/IAmA to promote the return of his most recent horror anthology television project, R. L. Stine's The Haunting Hour, to its new home on Discovery Family Channel. Reruns of the concluded four-season series begin airing tonight.

While there, poster mikerapin asked "Have you ever considered writing for comic books?"

"I'm writing a series of comic books for Marvel– my first comics ever. But I'm not allowed to talk about them yet" responded R.L. Stine, apparently fine with talking about them as long as no details were given.

While attempts by curious fans to get him to talk more about the comics were fruitless, the possibilities are endless. Stine could be doing original anthology horror comics, with or without the Goosebumps name. He could be trying his hand at an existing Marvel horror character, such as Blade or Tomb of Dracula. For all we know, he'll be writing Howard the Duck.

Until we get more word from Marvel, a generation of comic fans who grew up reading Goosebumps will be waiting anxiously for news of what Stine has in store.
