Tomorrow, One Marvel Comic Will Tease The Legacy Of The Fantastic Four

As we might have mentioned once or twice, Bleeding Cool was the first to report on the move at Marvel to stop publishing the Fantastic Four comics, as a result of a fallout in licensing negotiations with Fox. Comics, toys, statues, clothing, games, cartoons — all licensing came to an end.

The official line at Marvel Comics is that the series is taking a rest, as previous comics have done in the past (such as Thor). And certainly there were discussions at Marvel that the Fantastic Four would benefit from this. But as Jonathan Hickman, the last person to write the adventures of Mr. Fantastic and Sue Storm in Secret Wars pointed out, everyone knew it was down to a fallout between Marvel and Fox.

The Thing and Human Torch have popped up in a number of titles and are getting their own Marvel Two-In-One series. But as it stands, there is no new Fantastic Four title. Licenses are still being withdrawn, with a high-end exception with a Sue Storm toy. Though some have suspected Fantastic Four and Mr. Fantastic may be the mystery revival teased on Marvel Legacy #1.

Other comics have noted the absence of the Fantastic Four. Amazing Spider-Man saw Peter Parker move his Parker Industries into the Baxter Building. Jessica Jones has had characters ask why everyone has forgotten the Fantastic Four. The Uncanny Inhumans, then Uncanny Avengers gave Human Torch a home, while The Thing ended up in Guardians of the Galaxy and then Infamous Iron Man, along with a fake Ultimate Reed Richards — while the real Ultimate Reed Richards moved over to The Ultimates 2.

But as for Fantastic Four? And Marvel Legacy? At least one Marvel Comic is, at least, teasing that this is going to be addressed. If you find which one has the tease, let us know!
