Pay To Play – Four Games To Kickstart Your Weekend
Kate Lollar writes;
Have you ever backed a Kickstarter, gotten excited about it, eagerly checked back on the last day of its campaign, and realized it wasn't fully funded? That sucks. It also sucks for the project developers.
We've compiled a list of 4 cool Kickstarters that don't deserve to lose. Listed in order of urgency, the following campaigns are short of their goals and ending in the next week. Go back 'em.
1) Comic ConQuest (by Sleepy Giant) – a party-based tactical RPG where players battle through the halls of a comic con gone wrong, defeating enemies and collecting swag along the way. Launching on PC in early 2014, the game is an irreverent and light-hearted take on the awesomeness of comic cons.
The Comic ConQuest campaign ends Wednesday Oct 23 at 12:07am PDT.
2) Knite & The Ghost Lights (by Mobot Studios) – a game for Wii U, PC, Mac and Linux. Imagine taking a hand-crafted world and turning it into an amazing side-scrolling adventure. Knite & The Ghost Lights delivers a mixture of adventure, storytelling, and action from games we know and love like Metroid and Castlevania, but with a completely fresh feel for today's gamer.
The Knite & The Ghost Lights campaign ends Saturday Oct 26 at 1:20pm PDT.
3) Cornerstone: The Song of Tyrim (by Ascension Games) – an open world action adventure, with an emphasis on exploration and combat mixed with physics and player choice. A game inspired by The Legend of Zelda games and Dark souls, for Mac, PC and Linux. The world is structured similar to Wind-Waker with a series of islands connected within vast ocean, almost every areas is accessible from the start.
The Cornerstone: The Song of Tyrim campaign ends Saturday Oct 26 at 10:58am PDT.
4) Edge Of Eternity (by Midgar Studio) – a turn-by-turn combat system J-RPG. Currently, this is an early concept mobile preview. The game will be playable on PC, Linux, Mac, PSVita, Wii U, OUYA, PS4, XBoxOne, iPhone, iPad, Android, Windows Phone 8, Blackberry 10… The graphic universe of the game is a mix of Steampunk and Medieval Ages influences, with a hint of the best Japanese RPGs.
The Edge of Eternity campaign ends Saturday Oct 26 at 2:41pm PDT.
If you don't have the funds to back these great games on your own, pass along the links to your friends and spread the word. Karma will thank you for it.
