Play The Ballad Of Halo Jones, Based on Alan Moore and Ian Gibson's Sci-Fi Space Opera for 2000AD
This morning I have mostly been playing a fan-fic text adventure in the Hitch-Hikers Guide To The Galaxy mode, based on Alan Moore and Ian Gibson's The Ballad Of Halo Jones. Author Adrian Bamford writes,
Happy New Year all! I've never really promoted this publicly and it exists only on an obscure corner of the internet but a few years back, in the spirit of fan fiction, I created a Halo Jones graphical adventure game based on Book 1, inspired by the 1980's Halo Jones game which never came to be. It's had a lot of plays, though no real feedback so let me know your thoughts if you have a go with it. I'm pretty chuffed with the puzzles and also used the Douglas Adams Hitchikers Guide Infocom game as inspiration. There's a lot of competition for people's time these days so I've also included solutions to the hard bits accessed by typing 'help' throughout the game. I have the beginnings of a second game which may be completed in future, again, purely for kicks. This is a non-for-profit-in-any-way project, to be found at the below link:
Don't ask for 'help'. That is for the weak. But top tip, if you get hospitalised always look under the bed… have a play then go tell Adrian what you think. Maybe have a read first…
