Prime Minister Boris Johnson Takes Credit for Spider-Man and Superman Being British, Forgets About Batman
Prime Minister Boris Johnson's made a number of comments about the state of Great Britain, during the ongoing General Election campaign yesterday. And they seem to come in response to yesterday's video from Momentum that used Batman and the Joker to talk about taxation and modern-day British politics and priorities.
Visiting a vehicle manufacturer in Warwickshire, he gave a speech that included the following observation;
Today Britain has more Nobel Prize winners than any country aside except the US, we dominate the global pop music charts we even dominate, I saw, the market in Hollywood superheroes, British actors play both Spider-Man and Superman, under this government, we have an economy… (laughter) I'm going to take credit for it."
Henry Cavill is from Jersey (the old one), Tom Holland is from Norbiton (about a third of a mile from me, used to see him busking in Kingston years ago). But someone should tell Boris about the new Batman as well and add him to the list. Robert Pattinson is also a Londoner. But we already knows he likes to compare himself, and Britain, to the Hulk.
