And Finally… The Comic Store That A Community Saved
Comic stores often live and die by the quality of their window displays.
This weekend, Little Fish Comics in Fredericksburg, Virginia had one of its windows smashed. It's a local thing, apparently, someone going around breaking business windows with a slingshot or a BB gun.
The store is a little strapped for cash, and the insurance deductible was higher than the cost of fixing the glass. So what to do?
Well, one of their customers set up a Gofundme page. That goal was met in a day and more money has come in since.
As a result, tomorrow, the glass people are coming t board up the window and arrange the delivery and installation of a new window.
Right now its covered with Diamond Comics boxes and duct tape. Which works surprising well but… no.
So a shout out to those fine upstanding citizens who helped out, including Commander Shepard, Lucy Porter, Ed Robinson, Mark Roemer, Chris Tanzos, Andrija Popovic, Chris Muldrow, Christopher/Jennifer O'Brien, Rachel Sherman, Katherine Nobles, Dave Gent, Lisa Kueltzo, Matt Austin, Kat Essmann, Brian Goudie, Jason Peal, Ariana Gilgenast, Kristina Hoell, Jessi Fitzgerald, Amber S and Kathleen Gatner. Bleeding Cool medals all round!
