Bryan Talbot's Grandville Nominated For Hugo Award
The Hugo nominations were announced at Eastercon this weekend. The Best Graphic Story nominations were;l
Fables: Witches, written by Bill Willingham; illustrated by Mark Buckingham (Vertigo)
Girl Genius, Volume 10: Agatha Heterodyne and the Guardian Muse , written by Phil and Kaja Foglio; art by Phil Foglio; colors by Cheyenne Wright (Airship Entertainment)
Grandville Mon Amour , by Bryan Talbot (Dark Horse)
Schlock Mercenary: Massively Parallel , written and illustrated by Howard Tayler; colors by Howard Tayler and Travis Walton (Hypernode)
The Unwritten, Volume 2: Inside Man , written by Mike Carey; illustrated by Peter Gross (Vertigo)
That's two for Vertigo, a score for the Foglios, I need to now go and buy Schlock Mercenary, but aside from that I am so very pleased to see Bryan Talbot's sequel to Grandville, Grandville Mon Amour get nominated, and it would be my personal tip for the top…
Teh screenplay for Scott Pilgrim vs. the World by Michael Bacall & Edgar Wright was also nominated for Best Drmatic Presentation, Long Form, and Doctor Who cleaned up on the Short form, with nominations for A Christmas Carol, The Pandorica Opens/The Big Bang, and Vincent and the Doctor. Shame, I thought Eleventh Hour was better than all of them.
