Korean Horror Film I Saw The Devil Getting English Remake
Another Asian horror flick is getting the English remake treatment, and this time it's 2010 serial-killer thriller I Saw the Devil, according to The Wrap.
Kim Jee-Woon's original film followed an unapologetic serial killer who crosses the wrong man when he kills the pregnant fiancee of an elite special agent. The good guy goes bad to get revenge for his lost love, basically turning into a monster himself in order to do so. The story is described as being more character-driven, with the killer's identity revealed early on and the bulk of the film dedicated to the cat-and-mouse game between the two men.
Dredd 3D producers Adi Shankar and Spencer Silna bought the rights to make the English version, while saying:
The intention is not to remake the film per se, but rather to "port" it for international audiences.
Kim's 2003 horror film A Tale of Two Sisters had also previously been remade and renamed The Uninvited in 2009.
