Lauren Looks Back: Magic Kingdom's Festival Of Fantasy Parade
Disney World is a pretty magical place. Heck, all of the Disney Parks are magical. And part of that magic are the parades that happen throughout the day. Each park has different parades, and Disney tries in earnest not to repeat any floats in each of the parks. In Magic Kingdom, the Festival of Fantasy parade is the main parade that happens 2-3 times per day (there's also the Move It! Shake It! parade, which I'm lukewarm too). It's a beautiful parade with some stunning floats, and a dragon (which I'll talk about later)! The parade made its debut on March 9th, 2014, bringing all of the New Fantasyland stories into the parade.
Two of the floats are actually from Tokyo Disneyland — the Princess Garden, with Cinderella, Tiana, Belle, Anna and Elsa. Mikey's Airship is also from Tokyo Disney, and features Mickey, Minnie, and a number of other Disney characters that don't have floats. There are seven units total, and the parade runs for about 20 minutes. It's a beautiful parade, and runs down the length of Liberty Square and Main Street USA. I've learned that the best place to really see the parade is on the platform of the Disney World Train Station, but honestly you can get a great view anywhere the parade runs. If parades aren't your thing, you should probably hit up the rides during them. Lines should be shorter.
