Modesty Blaise Suffers Unfortunate Hyphen

Modesty Blaise Suffers Unfortunate HyphenI received a copy of Modesty Blaise: Sweet Caroline from Titan Books the other day.

By the late Peter O'Donnell and Neville Colvin, it's a beautiful, wonderful series of action adventure, an effective period piece in the days before James Bond was a camp icon.

Highly recommended.

But the back cover does have a slightly unfortunate framing of the quote from SFX magazine.

The original copy reads "Modesty Blaise is one of British Pop Culture's neglected jewels… Let's hope Ms Blaise finds a new audience, hungry for these brilliant slices of retro-chic."

But one simple hyphen changes everything. Here's how it's laid out on the back.

Modesty Blaise Suffers Unfortunate Hyphen

Modesty Blaise, a neglected jew there.
