Oxford's Only Comic Shop, Inky Fingers, to Close

Once upon a time, Oxford had both a Fantastic Store and a Comics Showcase. But those days are long gone. Now Inky Fingers, the only comic shop in Oxford, has decided to shut shop after four years on the Cowley Road.

INKY FINGERS) will be closing 31st July
After 4 years of trading we've decided to close and move on to other things.
Thank you to anyone who has stepped through our doors, it's been a pleasure serving everyone.
And so to clear our shelves we have reductions of up to 50% off EVERY item in stock.

The town which has comics publisher Rebellion of 200AD and Judge Dredd Megazine and DFC, publishers of The Phoenix now has no comic shop to sell them. Indeed I believe Oxfordshire has only one comic shop, Comics Connections, in Banbury, a store that bats above its weight, but too far from the gleaming spires of Oxford for casual browsing by the students.

It's a damn shame. And Inky Fingers is/was a damn fine comic book shop too.

Bleeding Cool tries to mark the passing of comic stores as well as new arrivals on the scene. We're more likely to hear about the former rather than the latter due to concerned fans, but do please feel free to let us know the changes in your own local marketplace. Contact richjohnston@bleedingcool.com to fill us in.
