Tuesday Runaround – Sending Kirk And Picard Into Space With Kickstarter

KickWatch: Logan Kugler has launched a Kickstarter project to send toys of Captain Kirk and Captain Picard, strapped to models of their respective Starship Enterprises into space using a high-altitude balloon and is being filmed by the Discovery Channel to boot.

The balloon will be 40 feet in diameter and monitored by The University of Illinois Observatory. Max Schlickenmeyer will create the video for this final mission for Picard and Kirk.

ChildWatch: Ales Kot (the man who rather exploded on Twitter in a hilarious fashion a couple of days ago) and Riley Rossmo (of Cowboy Ninja Viking) have an original graphic novella from Image in July, called Wild Children, about school shootings.

Kot is quoted in a press release saying "This comic is the equivalent of a six-track pop EP — and if we've done our jobs well, Wild Children will be the weird pop EP you'll find yourself coming back to again and again."

Basically it's the year 2003 all over again and someone is still stuck on the Warren Ellis Forum. There are worse places to be.
