Sandman Overture Tops Advance Reorders. Both Covers.
Greetings from the coal face of the direct comics market. Where retailers try to increase their orders of certain comics ahead of sale. Where supply and demand and most accurately reflected, where you can see which books are hot, where new orders are coming in and how retailers are reacting to new, unanticipated desire!
Has everyone worked out that Sandman: Overture is going to be a really big seller. Retailers seem to be getting there. Especially when DC Comics has made the book returnable if retailers order enough. But will anyone be able to strip covers of any excess copies without feeling a complete Philistine? Maybe that's what DC is banking on.
Joker's Daughter has pushed Catwoman up to the top as well, followed by a little Wolverine & The X-Men. And then we get Ed Brubaker and Steve Epting's new comic Velvet and Kelly Sue DeConnick and Emma Rios's Pretty Deadly, in the wake of the Image success of Sex Criminals, Satellite Sam and more.
