Things To Do In London In May If You Like Comics And Burlesque
Rian Hughes, Bleeding Cool's Jessica Kemp, Jessica Martin, Chrissie Nicholson-Wild of Curve Couture and more will be exhibiting together at the London Burlesque Fest forthe Big Burlesque Day Out in May 24th.
Rian Hughes, best known for drawing Grant Morrison's Dare, designing the Forbidden Planet logo (and the current Valiant logo) as well as lots of their titles' logos and DC New 52 logos, recently put out a book, Soho Dives, Soho Divas from Image cataloguing many of his sketches of woman in provocative poses. And now he's taking his work to this new… venue.
We've featured Jessica Martin's work before as well, and she'll be showing off her new work, It Girl.
And Jessica Kemp will be launching a self published title with a limited day-only edition.
Other comics faces there will include ex-Vertigo UK staffer, author of Comic Book Babylon, and Bleeding Cool writer Tim Pilcher.
Still, a stall is all well and good, but the team will also have a cigarette girl walking around with a tray filled with Chocolate Cigarettes and cup cakes as well as their self published titles and specially produced cigarette cards, all decked out in an outfit made by Chrissie.
