Saying Goodbye To Wildstorm

Next week WildCATS ships, the last Wildstorm Universe title from DC Comics.

The line that gave us the likes of the "On Earth…As It Is In Heaven" split-storytelling from WildCATS.

That introduced decompressed storytelling to mainstream American comics with The Authority.

That reinterpreted comics nostalgia as archeology in Planetary.

That messed with every audience expectation in Monarchy.

That introduced a lesbian character with Rainmaker in Gen 13 before it was fashionable.

That so pissed off Paul Levitz that he fired people and cancelled books… but he still kept it around until he left.

Here's to a few lost friends from those who remember them.
