Bleeding Cool welcomes the return of Talking Comics, from Excalibur Comics, Cards, and Games in Shreveport, Louisiana, to discuss this week's upcoming books, speculating about where they are headed, and discuss their favorite storylines.
Hosts Randy Young and Chris Hunter say:
Thanks for pressing play!
It's another fantastic week for comics as we get tons of interesting and diverse titles hitting the shelf this week starting with none other than Patsy Walker aka Hellcat. That's right Patsy Walker is getting her own solo series starting this week right on the heels of her character also appearing in Netflix's very own Jessica Jones TV series. In this new series, we get to take a look at Patsy Walker as she deals with trying to pay her rent, dodge bullets, and deal with her mother and her work and dating life as well, another fun series from Marvel Comics shipping this week.
From DC Comics, we get a team up that is years in the making and one that is so obvious I don't know why it hasn't been done before. I'm talking about Batman '66 Meets the Man from U.N.C.L.E. #1 hitting the shelf this week. The deadly organization known as T.H.R.U.S.H. is out and about trying to conquer the world and now they are recruiting villains from Gotham City and from Batman's rogue's gallery. Now it looks like Agent Napoleon Solo and Batman will team up to fight this organization as well as the villains involved with their conquest for domination.
Another one from Vertigo Comics this week we get the Last Gang in Town #1 taking a look at life in Britain in the '70s and '80s with the rise of a new generation of criminals during that time period to put their stamp on the world.
For all you Rocketeer fans, the Rocketeer is back this week with Rocketeer at War #1 hitting the shelf. It looks like the Rocketeer, also known as Cliff Secord, is thrown head first into the battle that's going on in 1942 against the Allies and Axis. Hopefully his jet pack will be enough to help him survive!
Last but not least, I do have a brand new miniseries from Valiant Entertainment with the second volume of Dr. Mirage hitting the shelf this week. It's one thing to be able to have the magical ability to bring someone back from the dead but it's something else altogether to unleash another force of pure evil in the process that wants to take the lives of the living and the dead together.
Also, tons of other favorites of ours are hitting the shelf this week and are really excited to see what happens in the next issue of Dark Knight III Master Race #2 hitting the shelf this week and continuing the story of what's going on with Carrie Kelly.
Don't miss our questions of the week because we have a couple of them for you and we want to know your thoughts!
