Thanos' Creator Jim Starlin Creates New Sci-Fi Comic, Order & Outrage
Dark Horse Comics is to publish a new sci-fi comic book series in 2023, with Thanos creator Jim Starlin and Identity Crisis artist, Rags Morales, Order And Outrage #1, about resisting the forces of a ruthless totalitarian regime. How topical.
"Gene manipulation has always been solely for those who can afford the expensive prenatal treatments. Income determines status and, more importantly, survival. If your genes have not been optimized, the Order has no use for you. You are non-essential. Less than. To be eliminated. Everything is geared to keeping the ship of state sailing along smoothly, no matter the cost. But in every totalitarian system lie the seeds of rebellion, independence, and OUTRAGE."
"I'm super excited to work with the man who taught me how to draw space gauntlets, while perusing my copies of Captain Marvel back in the 1970's." Rags Morales says, "That, and if anyone knows me, knows how much of a political pain in the xxx I am. So ORDER and OUTRAGE is my kinda story. Lookout Order, here comes the rebellion!"
Jim Starlin is best known for revamping the Marvel Comics characters Captain Marvel and Adam Warlock, and for creating and co-creating Marvel characters Thanos, Drax the Destroyer, Gamora, and Shang-Chi and for writing the death of Jason Todd, the second Robin, for DC's Batman comics. For Epic Illustrated at Marvel, he created his own character, Dreadstar. Rags Morales is best known for his work for DC Comics, including Identity Crisis, Countdown to Infinite Crisis, Batman Confidential, and The New 52 reboot of Action Comics, as well as co-creating the nineties version of Black Condor.
Order and Outrage #1 (of 4) coloured by Hailey Brown and letterer Michael Heisler will be published on the 23rd of March, 2023.
