The Fabulous Killjoys Is Fabulous – And When Darth Vader And Boba Fett Had A Pre-Star Wars Team Up
Tomorrow is Free Comic Book Day. I'm not sure, we may have mentioned it.
Dark Horse Comics have two free comics available. A Mass Effect/RIPD/Killjoys flipbook which is all lots of fun, but it's the Killjoys that will grab the eyeballs.
Gerard Way has written this comic with Shaun Simon, with Becky Cloonan on art, as an accompaniment to My Chemical Romance's last album Danger Days and we get our first glimpse of it here.
The world portrayed in the album and videos, a near future with a city governed by Better Living Industries (BL/ind), monitored by Draculoids and the S/C/A/R/E/C/R/O/W Unit with the Killjoys fighting against all that, inspired and led by pirate DJ Dr. Death Defying.
As you do.
And so it is here. Battles fought as rock music gigs in the desert, the aftermath leaving all sorts of things behind, shooting stars that may have a little Stardust in them and big splashy visuals in gloomy places.
Oh and no kids staying up past their bedtime. This is very very important. There are consequences.
Yeah, you're all pretty much going to love this.
While in Dark Horse's other book, a flipbook with Star Wars and Avatar: The Last Airbender (with a little Captain Midnight action) we get to see the beginning of what must obviously be a bromance in the making, even though they never actually see each other face to face. Boba Fett helping Darth Vader out of a tight spot…
Have fun! Oh and if you're just too far away from a comic shop to particpate, it's not exactly free either, but there is this…
She really really really wants an Ugly Doll comic…
