In the movie Being John Malkovich, John Cusack finds a portal inside that leads to John Malkovich's head. Well, that's kinda what happens to The Outsiders in next week's Planetary-inspired comic, made up of Batwing, Batwoman and Drummer, in this week's issue. Instead, rather than ending up inside of John Malkovich, they end up inside Batman.

I mean, of course, they get separated. But there's not just one Batman there. There are all the Batmen. From the campiest sixties TV Batmeb, to the more monstrous religious zealot psychopaths of the modern era.

DC Comics

Barbatos, being the great evil God Of Batman, and the Dragons Of The Bat being the Justice League or other superheroes, transformed into fighting slaves of Barbatos. And through the Dark Multiverse birthing the Batman Who Laughs and other Dark Multiverse Batmen. A few of which who end up here…

You know that bit in John Malkovich in which John Malkovich is transported by the magical tunnel inside his own head, and suddenly everyone he sees around him is himself, reflected through a myriad of mirrors? That's kinda where we have ended up. As well as Luke Fox, Batwing, getting a psychological complex of his own…

But it's not just the Batmen that are multiplying. So are the Batwomen. So Kate Kane finds a multiplicity of herself inside Bruce Wayne's Head Dimension.

And seriously, Luke Fox is really going to get a complex about this whole thing, right?

DC Comics

Luke Fox will never be Batman. Even if his brother Jake Fox, already is one, over in New York. Families eh? The Outsiders #3 by Jackson Lanzing, Collin Kelly and Robert Carey is published on Tuesday.

DREAMING OF BATS. Only two things are certain about the mysterious door that has appeared in the Outsiders' ship. The first? It was opened by the Drummer, using a set of Multiversal coordinates discovered in a dream. The second? Their computers have identified it only as a narrative singularity. For most, to step through such a door would be unthinkable, even insane–which makes it a perfect mission for the Outsiders! As Kate Kane and Luke Fox venture into the unknown reaches of the Multiverse, they will fall deeper and deeper into a maze of darkness, guided by unfamiliar versions of familiar faces. What is this strange world they've discovered? How are they connected to it? And who is lurking in the shadows, ready to destroy it all?
