Have You Voted In The Ringo Awards Yet?
The Ringo Awards, named to celebrate Mike Wieringo and replacing the Harvey Awards at Baltimore Comic Con, come in two phases, a nomination phase and a final voting phase.
The nomination phase is open to fans, while the final ballot can only be voted on by comic pros. For the nomination phase, a Jury representing a cross-section of the industry has been selected: John Haines is a comics retailer, historian, show-runner, and past advisor to the Overstreet Price Guide; Hannah Means-Shannon, executive editor of Comicon.com, ex-EIC of Bleeding Cool and past associate editor at Dark Horse Comics; Jamar Nicholas is a GLYPHS Comic Award-winning cartoonist and educator; Chris Powell is VP of Retailer Services at Diamond Comics Distributors, was previously GM and Chief Relationship Officer at Lone Star Comics and mycomicshop.com, and has held board positions on ComicsPro and the CBLDF; and Jose Villarrubia is an educator and Eisner-nominated and Harvey Award-winning artist renowned for his collaborations with Alan Moore, who has worked extensively doing digital painting for Marvel, DC, Dark Horse, Image, Wildstorm, Vertigo, Valiant, Archie, Legendary, and other publishers. The Ringos Jury will submit ballots for all but 4 fan-only awards, and their votes will contribute 3 of the 5 slots per category on the final ballot.
If you want to take part in the inaugural Ringo awards, this is your opportunity…
