Alan Wake: Written in Darkness

In the world of Alan Wake, Alan is a talented writer best known to his fans as the author of the hit Alex Casey series, including Return to Sender and The Sudden Stop. Unfortunately, a vacation to Bright Falls took a grim turn for the worse when he found himself face to face with a supernatural darkness. The plot of his latest novel, a horror story he didn't remember writing, began coming to life, resulting in him becoming trapped within the Dark Place. As a prisoner, Alan Wake is fighting tooth and nail to escape. However, his attempt to write his way to freedom led him straight into the thralls of The Entity, trading one Dark Place for another. And, of course, it wouldn't be Alan Wake without the actors that bring him to life. Dead by Daylight's Alan Wake Chapter features both the likeness of actor Ilkka Villi, who plays Alan during the franchise's live-action scenes, as well as Matthew Porretta, who has voiced him throughout the franchise. Players will be able to hear brand-new, original voice lines as Alan Wake faces his latest deadly challenge in The Fog.

Dead By Daylight: An Evolving Horror Roster

From films to video games, Dead by Daylight is home to some of the greatest characters in horror history. With the inclusion of Alan Wake, its diverse roster of Survivors grows larger still, adding a staple character from one of horror gaming's top franchises. Hot on the heels of the release of the critically acclaimed Alan Wake 2, now is the perfect time to experience a new dark chapter for the beloved character. Along with the release of this latest Chapter comes a special limited-time Modifier called Lights Out that adds a terrifying new layer of fear to Dead by Daylight. Modifiers are brand-new adjustments to the existing Trial format that offer players a unique and exciting experience. With Lights Out, players will find themselves in a terrifying atmosphere stripped of several of the key tools they're used to. The Lights Out Modifier will be implemented in game in the upcoming weeks. Stay tuned.

"Since it first launched back in 2010, Alan Wake has been a huge influence to us on the Dead by Daylight team," says Mathieu Coté, Head of Partnerships at Behaviour Interactive. "From broad themes to specific elements, both our games already feel connected in many ways. This is a character we always thought would be right at home in the Dead by Daylight universe. To finally see Alan come to the Fog as a Survivor feels like a full-circle moment, especially as the recently released second entry in the franchise is still fresh in player's minds."

"We are thrilled and honored to have Alan Wake enter the Fog of Dead by Daylight," says Sam Lake, Creative Director of Remedy Entertainment. "From our early excited conversations on about our collaboration with Behaviour Interactive, it was clear that the lore of both games were surprisingly compatible, drawing from many similar inspirations, a true match in… hell. With Alan Wake 2 now out, the time is right for another nightmare to begin."
