Are Hello Games Trolling 'No Man's Sky' Fans With Cassettes Now?
Much like the game No Man's Sky in general, we're not too sure what Hello Games is doing to its fans with a new mystery present. After basically shutting down all way of communicating them, which is understandable since practically everyone who purchased the game wanted their heads for the lack of an ending to the game, the company sent out random cassette tapes to 16 different fans who purchased the game.
This photo was posted on Reddit by a user named BaRKy1911, who was contacted by Hello Games and asked for their mailing address. It appears that all of the packages came with a No Man's Sky token of appreciation (like a pin or a signed poster) and one numbered cassette, ala 13 Reasons Why. At the moment, the mods are all trying to get together somehow and put this thing together as a group, as well as share it with the No Man's Sky community as a whole. However, that seems like it's going to be a logistical nightmare since some of them live in different parts of the country and even other countries. Not to mention some aren't revealing what's on their tape until they see all 16 pop up, which at the moment they only have five confirmed.
Considering we've only seen five and Reddit users are usually not one to shy away from speculation prior to seeing anything, we have to ask whether or not Hello Games are now trolling their most diehard fans. You know, the 10% of fans who didn't get angry and cried for the developer's heads when they discovered they purchased a game that has no ending. They payoff for this has to be awesome, otherwise, Hello Games are setting themselves up to anger a new set of people who were willing to look past that big flaw. Fingers crossed that something good actually comes from this, because I'd hate for them to be in one of these situations…
