CWL Pro League Finals: Miami – Day Two Results Part 1

We're live on Miami Beach this weekend for the Call Of Duty World League Finals with the CWL Pro League playoffs taking center stage the next few days. Here's part one of the results from the games on Saturday, July 20th.

Game One: 100 Thieves vs. FaZe Clan

The first match took us to Gridlock for a Hardpoint battle, as these two teams traded blows and kept one-uping each other. This was probably the hardest fought match of the ones they played as FaZe took the match 250-219. The second match put an S&D fight on Arsenal, as faze basically had all of the answers for this one and ran the table against 100T, taking the second match 6-1 and going up 2-0 at the half. The third match took us back to gridlock for a Control battle, but this one went by quicker than many expected considering the two involved. Ultimately, FaZe took the match 3-2, sweeping 100T as they go to the Loser's bracket and FaZe jumps to the next Winner's round.

Winner: FaZe Clan (3-0)

Game Two: Gen.G vs. Splyce

The first match was a hell of a brawl as we went to Arsenal for a Hardpoint fight. Both teams fought back-and-forth over the point until Gen.G managed to find the opening they needed to get ahead of the curve and took the match 250-202, going up 1-0. The second match showed S&D on Frequency as both teams traded off victories until Splyce was able to get their act together for a couple of rounds and took the match 6-4, making it 1-1 going to the half.

Match three took us to Gridlock for a Control match, but this one wasn't much of a challenge as Gen.G painted the floor with Splyce and took the match 3-0 fairly easily, going up 2-1 overall. Finally, we stayed on Gridlock for the fourth match with another Hardpoint battle, as Gen.G continued their dominance over Splyce. This was more of a clinic than a battle as they took the match quickly with a 250-75 score, winning the fight 3-1 and sending Splyce to the Loser's Bracket.

Winner: Gen.G (3-1)

Game Three: eUnited vs Team Reciprocity

The first matchup took us to Gridlock for a Hardpoint fight, as these two looked to be somewhat evenly matched until EU ripped into them and just took control of the match. There wasn't a lot REC could do but watch as they would swarm in and get mowed down for the second half as EU won 250-123. The second match took the S&D fight to Frequency, where things got back to being even again. But then EU found the tools they needed late in the match to take a lead, took the 6-4 victory and went up 2-0 before the half. The third match was pretty academic at that point as we went to Seaside for a Control battle. REC just didn't have their act together as EU was able to roll over them for the east 3-0 win. They took the game in a sweep as they move onto the Winner's side and REC heads down to the Loser's bracket.

Winner: eUnited (3-0)

Game Four: OpTic Gaming vs. Luminosity

This was the first major game of the day as the crowd was very pro-OpTic. The first match took us to the Hacienda for a Hardpoint fight, and this one seemed like it was little challenge at all as Luminosity practically owned the board for much of the match, taking the first win with a score of 250-99. The second match kept us on the Hacienda for S&D. Again, this was basically an all-Luminosity match as they took many of the rounds with ease for the 6-1 win and the 2-0 lead headed tot he half. OpTic showed signs of life in the third match as we went to Gridlock for a Control fight, but even after pushing hard against the grain, Luminosity was able to take it 3-2, another sweep for the day. Luminosity head to the Winner's bracket and OpTiuc head down to the Loser's bracket.

Winner: Luminosity (3-0)
