DontNod Entertainment Pushes "Twin Mirror" Back to 2020

One of the big games missing from this year's E3 was Twin Mirror from Bandai Namco and DontNod Entertainment, and now we know why. The developers made two big announcements this past week, the first being that the game will be exclusive to the Epic Games Store for PC, and the second is that it's pushed back. The game will now be released sometime in 2020, as explained in their announcement, which we have part of it for you here. Seeing as how we've gotten very little info about the game since being announced, it shouldn't come as a shock to see it delayed a bit since there's no clear idea of where it is in development. All we can really do right now is wait for the devs to give us some clear sign of what they're working on.

In order to optimize the gaming experience and capitalize on Twin Mirror's success potential, DontNod Entertainment has decided to extend the development phase and reschedule release for 2020, boosted by the transmedia expertise of a co-producer Shibuya Productions.

This entire transaction will enhance value creation potential for shareholders.

Oskar Guilbert, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of DontNod, said: "In line with our development strategy and thanks to our partnership with Epic Games, DontNod now majority holds an additional key asset. We are delighted to partner with Epic Games and present Twin Mirror to the vast gamer community on its Epic Games store. The conditions of this partnership along with the support of Shibuya Productions reinforce the game's potential. This strategic operation demonstrates our ability to leverage new market trends in our favor. The video game industry is currently undergoing major transformation and now offers a major competitive advantage to content creators such as DontNod."
