'Gran Turismo Sport' Gets An Official October Launch Date

Polyphony Digital founder Kazunori Yamauchi took it upon himself to announce the release date for Gran Turismo Sport yesterday evening. The announcement came via the PlayStation Blog that the game will be officially released on October 18th for PlayStation 4 for $70 USD ($80 for the deluxe edition).

Not a lot of details came out after that — only an explanation that more would be coming. But honestly, the fact that we actually have a solid date on this thing after being teased about it for over a year speaks volumes, and it shows we're not going to be waiting until the holidays or later for a game that looks too good to be true. What they'll announce down the road and what's to come from the game are two very different things that are both in the dark, but I can't imagine fans of the series will be disappointed with anything they release at this point.

From the PS Blog:

"Between now and launch you can expect to hear a lot more from the GT team as we unveil more information on the many features included in Gran Turismo Sport, including the campaign mode, various creative tools, as well as a full reveal on all the cars and tracks you can look forward to racing on launch day!"
