HTC Vive Gets a New VR Title in The Way of Kings, Escape the Shattered Plains
Today the HTC Vive just got a new title for their library of games with The Way Of Kings, Escape The Shattered Plains which puts you in the role of a young warrior trying to make his way out of a hostile environment where basically everything is either trying to kill you or is too weak to help you. Seriously, the game is kind of weird like that, but it also looks like a pretty good first-person adventure title from Arcturus and DMG Entertainment. We have the game's description below along with the official trailer, in case you feel like trying it out for yourself.
The Way of Kings, Escape the Shattered Plains, an immersive and interactive narrative experience and the first visual adaptation of #1 New York Times best-selling author Brandon Sanderson's The Stormlight Archive series, is now available on Viveport and Steam for HTC Vive. Developed by Arcturus in partnership with DMG Entertainment, Escape the Shattered Plains is a narrative experience in which participants embark on a an electrifying, unforgettable adventure in the magical Cosmere universe as they bravely battle menacing beasts and sinister soldiers in the battle of a lifetime.
In Escape the Shattered Plains, brave participants take on the role of Kaladin, a young man who is coming to terms with his magical powers, and enter the realm of Roshar, a mythical land where storms of incredible power sweep through the perilous and rocky terrain. Guided by Syl, an enchanting, fairy-like creature, you will encounter an unrelenting tempest on the Shattered Plains, learn to harness the magical power of stormlight, and face-off with mystical beasts and sinister Parshendi warriors. The short form adaptation was written by Joshua Rubin, the lead writer behind renowned videogames Destiny and Assassin's Creed.
