Iron Galaxy Studios Wants to Port Monster Hunter: World to the Nintendo Switch

Monster Hunter has a big handheld audience. The franchise has done exceptionally well on devices like the Nintendo 3DS especially in handheld heavy territories like Japan. That has extended a little to the West, but in a smaller capacity. The release of Monster Hunter: World on the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 has possibly changed that, as the game has gone on to do very well indeed on home consoles. That being said, with the success of the Nintendo Switch, many have asked fairly loudly if Capcom's latest effort would be making its way to the console.

The response thus far has been… well, no. The game barely runs well on powerful home consoles, so seeing it running acceptably on the Nintendo Switch seems an impossible job. It seems one company has stepped up to the plate and thrown their hat in the ring though. CEO of developer Iron Galaxy Adam Boyes has taken to Twitter to offer their services to Capcom to see the game running on the Switch. He said:

While Iron Galaxy is known for their tenure of developing Killer Instinct in recent seasons, it is most notable for its extensive port work. Perhaps most relevant, they recently did the Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim port for the Nintendo Switch, but have worked on things like Borderlands 2 on the PlayStation Vita as well as Destiny on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. They certainly have experience making intensive games work on lesser hardware. I have my doubts as to how possible this is, but I'd certainly love to see someone try. It really would be excellent to have the game on Nintendo Switch.
