Just What We Needed: Apple Is Making More iPhone Versions in 2018
After seeing Apple release three new versions of the iPhone (iPhone X, iPhone 8, and iPhone 8 Plus) at prices that would make anyone's bank account weep, the company now has plans to release more versions that will apparently be bigger and cost even more than these. Bloomberg is reporting that all three devices have underperformed according to where Apple saw them profit-wise, so in order to combat this and make the brand friendlier for people to purchase again, they'll be releasing three new versions of the iPhone, including one with the largest screen for an iPhone yet as well as a slimmed down version of the iPhone X.
While there are no prices attached to any of these new and yet-to-be-seen smartphones, it isn't very likely that Apple will simply lower the prices. The cheapest of the current new models sit around $700, while many of their competitors that run Android software sit around $400. There's also the fact that Apple did themselves no favors by forcing people with phones older than the iPhone 7 to get an upgrade in some fashion after sending out software updates that basically choked your battery to death. So we can't blame consumers for dumping Apple and going to anyone else for cheaper. Will these new phones bring anyone back? We'll see what happens the next time Apple shows off new gear.
