Mafia III, Dead By Daylight and More Coming to PlayStation Plus This Month
Sony has announced its PlayStation Plus lineup for August, bringing in titles like Mafia III and Dead by Daylight among a whole slew of others too.
It's a new month, which means that a whole bunch of free games are about to be making their way to us. Alongside other promotions from other companies, if you subscribe to either PlayStation Plus or Xbox Live, you know you are in for a couple extra games each month for no extra charge. Xbox's lineup this month is impressive with For Honor and Forza Horizon 2 coming to Games with Gold. Sony seems like it is ready to put up a great fight too though.
It's been announced that Mafia III and Dead by Daylight will be headlining PlayStation Plus this month. Mafia III had plenty of detractors when it first came out, but I remember liking it a lot, despite its repetitive gameplay. Its sense of the setting, a fictional New Orleans in the 1960s was really unique and featured some truly interesting ideas. Dead by Daylight, on the other hand, is an asymmetrical horror game that has one player playing a horror movie serial killer, chasing down other players. If you fancy it, the game has licensed DLC too, with the likes of Nightmare on Elm Street, Saw and Texas Chainsaw Massacre all having representation.
The rest of the lineup reads like this:
Bound by Flame, PS3
Serious Sam 3 BFE, PS3
Draw Slasher, PS Vita
Space Hulk, PS Vita
This seems like a varied and interesting month for PlayStation Plus, with one open world single-player game and a totally multiplayer focused one. There should be a little something for everyone here. Have at it.
