New Footage For 'Monster Hunter XX' On Nintendo Switch On YouTube

In case you've been wondering what Monster Hunter XX will look and play like, you don't need to wonder anymore. There's now footage online that gives us some perspective of what's to come, which has some plusses and minuses.

New Footage For 'Monster Hunter XX' On Nintendo Switch On YouTube

This footage is from Japan, specifically from a Capcom live stream they were showing off to players who will be getting the game first in their country, since Monster Hunter XX isn't been given a western release date yet, or even looks like it's going to be localized anytime soon. The footage itself shows off a Nakarkos battle, with many of the visuals looking absolutely stunning, while others look kind of bleak and pale. It's a mesh of style that looks almost incomplete.

The game has already been released on the 3DS in Japan with the Nintendo Switch version coming on August 25. Considering the game is being ported to a better system, you'd think the Switch footage would be a little crisper and deeper than what the 3DS could offer. But just off the footage we see here, some of it just looks murky and doesn't feel like a game you'd see on the Switch. Even looking at the official feed from Capcom's channel in the three-hour video, the game just doesn't feel up to snuff. Maybe that will change in the next month, but that seems very doubtful at this point.
