Overwatch Pacific Championship 2017 Has Been Announced
Blizzard has announced the formation of the Overwatch Pacific Championship, a professional eSports league based in Taipei for their ever-popular MOBA. And now pro teams in the Pacific region can get in on the offical Overwatch action with a new league and championship. Fantastic!
The Overwatch Pacific Championship's first season will begin on the 8th of April (AEST/NZST) with eight pro teams: Australia's Blank Esports, Hong Kong's Hong Kong Attitude, Japan's SunSister and DeToNator GOLD, Taiwan's Machi Esports, ahq eSports Club, and Flash Wolves, and Thailand's FireBall fighting it out for roughly NTD$8.3 million (approximately $2,738,776.73 USD). The competition will take place over an 11-week span, and the top three teams will advance to the playoffs. All matches will be streamed live on the Blizzard eSports page each week from Friday through to Sunday (AEST/NZST).
