Pokémon GO Countdown: 4 Days Until GO Fest 2021
The countdown to GO Fest 2021 in Pokémon GO has begun! This is the second year in a row that Niantic is hosting GO Fest as a remote event, allowing players to participate in the festivities from home for a fraction of last year's price. GO Fest 2021 will run on Saturday, July 17th from 10 AM through 6 PM and Sunday, July 18th from 10 AM – 6 PM. Day One will focus mostly on Pokémon in the wild, with habitat-themed hours and a boosted Shiny rate. Day Two will focus on raids, with every Legendary Pokémon featured in the history of the game (at least one Forme of each) coming back to Tier Fives. As we get closer and closer to the launch of GO Fest 2021, you can stay tuned to Bleeding Cool for coverage of the event as well as helpful preparation guides.
Today, let's talk about preparing our item bags for Pokémon GO. Here are my tips:
- Max out your bag space as much as you can. When I do these guides, the most common critique is that this bit of advice doesn't apply to free-to-play players. That's true. However, this remains the single most useful way to prepare yourself for GO Fest 2021. If you are prepping stock for a huge event, you're going to want huge space. If you cannot max out your back in Pokémon GO, the following tips can still be observed.
- Whittle down your TMs. We have four days before GO Fest 2021 begins in Pokémon GO., Take this time to go through your Pokémon, using Fast and Charged TMs to get them all their best moves. This will put those TMs to use rather than deleting them… because you don't want over 100 TMs leading into this event.
- In the days leading up to the event, slow down on catching and focus on item collecting. Personally, here's what I'm going to focus on the building:
- Poké Balls
- Ultra Balls (focus on these rather than Great Balls)
- Pinap Berries
- Golden Razz Berries
- Incense, Star Pieces, Lucky Eggs: Stock up enough to use for the full event.
- Items you can delete in your storage are:
- Potions and revives: Don't get rid of all of them, but whittle them down to the necessities. If you plan on raiding on Sunday, these raids will be rewarding more potions and revives.
- Nanab Berries, Razz Berries: Nanab Berries make Pokémon stop moving while Razz Berries make them easier to catch. These are not important for GO Fest.
- Evolution items: Use 'em or lose 'em. They'll replenish.
