Realtech VR Cancels the Tomb Raider Remasters for PC
Well, that was short lived. Remember how we mentioned that Realtech VR was working on remasters of the first three Tomb Raider games for PC? Apparently, those have been shelved for an unknown reason. The company posted a tweet very quietly earlier this week making the announcement, which has since been deleted after all the angry commentary that followed it. They then followed it up with the tweet below explaining that the company is now going through some changes.
The biggest problem with this is no one knows what "this episode" is and the company clearly can't talk about what's happening behind the scenes, so we're left with a big pile of questions — including what went wrong and how finished those remasters are. It's a real shame, because there are probably hundreds of people who purchased the original games on Steam hoping to get the free remasters, and now they're not coming around. Maybe Square Enix will take over the reins themselves and just finish those Tomb Raider remasters without the middleman.
