Squad 44 – Reign of Steel

Included in the Reign of Steel update is the new game mode Frontline, which combines the best gameplay attributes of Invasion, Offensive, and even RAAS game modes, offering players a more dynamic and immersive combat experience. In Frontline mode, attackers undertake missions to progress the titular frontline across the map while defenders hold back the encroaching enemy. The missions can feature multiple different objectives, like capturing posts or destroying enemy equipment; after the first is completed, the remaining missions are randomized and are hidden from the attacking team. This allows the defending side's logistics teams to prepare as required for each objective.

As attackers complete missions, their visibility increases to show the next mission, and the frontline moves to offer them the ability to penetrate further. The Reign of Steel update also includes QoL improvements, including a substantial improvement to graphical fidelity and improvements to Arnhem Range, the in-game shooting range where players can test their skill and improve their abilities with a wide array of weapons and firearms.
