Bethesda Say They Literally Can't Make Any More Pip-Boy Special Editions

fallout_4_e3_2015_15The demand for Fallout 4: Pip-Boy edition has been huge. I've haven't seen people go this nutty for a collector's edition in a long, long time. The fervour has been so much that it sold out in a mere matter of weeks, and with that, any hope to get one if you hadn't picked one up yet.

This was met with people asking 'why?', as surely Bethesda could just make more and satisfy demand? It would just mean more money, right? Sadly not. Bethesda's VP of marketing Pete Hines told Gamespot that the company literally can't fill out any more orders. He explained:

We reached a point where we'd go back to the factories and they were like, 'guys, this is it, sorry. This is as long as we can run the lines and as many of them as we can make.

They're being made today, it's not like they're done and sitting in a warehouse. [The factories would tell us,] this is what the yields say. I mean, we don't make [the Pip-Boy Editions], and we'd go back to [the factories] and say, 'Demand for this is insane, we've got to make more.' And they'd move other projects off or shift stuff to other factories and it just came to [them telling Bethesda], 'Final answer: sorry, this is as many as we can make.' And we sold every single one of those that we could.

So yeah, if you were hoping for those to come back on sale…well, you're out of luck. Sorry about that.
