A Clip from Bao the Pixar Short that will Play Before Incredibles 2

The shorts before a Pixar movie are usually worth the price of admission alone and it turns out that Incredibles 2 will be no different. Disney and Pixar have released a clip from the short Bao. It is by director Domee Shi and looks to "explore the ups and downs of the parent-child relationship through the colorful, rich, and tasty lens of the Chinese immigrant community in Canada" according to the youtube posting.

Below is a brief summary of the short which, as someone who has seen it, is a little spoiler-y. It's a gut punch so I'd recommend skipping this summary and just seeing the movie when you go see Incredibles 2.

In Disney•Pixar's "Bao," an aging Chinese mom suffering from empty nest syndrome gets another chance at motherhood when one of her dumplings springs to life as a lively, giggly dumpling boy. Mom excitedly welcomes this new bundle of joy into her life, but Dumpling starts growing up fast, and Mom must come to the bittersweet revelation that nothing stays cute and small forever.

The embargo for Incredibles 2 drops on Monday so stay tuned for our review.

Summary: Bob Parr (Mr. Incredible) is left to care for Jack-Jack while Helen (Elastigirl) is out saving the world.

Incredibles 2, directed by Brad Bird, stars Craig T. Nelson, Holly Hunter, Sarah Vowell, Huck Milner, Jonathan Banks, and Samuel L. Jackson. It will be released on June 15th.
