Agents of Hydra, Agents of SHIELD
With Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. set to return on April 4, Marvel has just given us a little tease on what may be in store, with previous SHIELD promos redone as… well, HYDRA promos. "Ever wonder what past seasons of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. would look like if they had taken place in the Framework's alternate reality?", the accompanying text wonders. I see a lot of love/hate for this series among fans, but there's a pretty good case to be made that it's conceptually true to the spirit of the Jim Steranko-era material and beyond. The story always had a James Bondian way of shifting from global to personal. And the endless complexity of Hydra, plus the existence of Life Model Decoys, has always meant that it's a given that things are never as they appear.
