Chris Pratt Says the Situation Is "Complicated" Following James Gunn's Firing
It's almost been a full month since Guardians of the Galaxy director James Gunn was fired from the third entry in the franchise and Marvel/Disney cut all ties with the director. Since then the discourse surrounding the firing has been interesting to watch play out on social media.
According to Chris Pratt, as he told the AP, this hasn't been a fun month for anyone.
"It's not an easy time. We all love James and he's a good friend of ours, but we also really love playing the Guardians of the Galaxy. It's a complicated situation for everybody. And you know, we just want to move forward and do what's right and be the best people we can be," Pratt said.
Pratt and all of the other stars from Guardians of Galaxy, including Bradley Cooper, Vin Diesel, and Zoe Saldana, put out an open letter stating that they support the director and would like him back ten days after the firing. Pratt still stands behind that letter.
"I love going to Comic-Con but I ended up not doing a lot of interviews around that time just because it was so shocking. All I know is we put a lot of time, thought and effort into the statement that we released about it. And I think we all kind of want that statement to be essentially what we have to say about it. And we were pretty clear and honest about how we feel," Pratt said.
No one at Disney or Marvel has publicly commented on it, but there are tons of rumors right now. While they probably want to sweep it all under the rug as quickly as possible, people are still talking about it, and they need to comment sooner than rather later.
