Dwayne Johnson Provides an Update on the Black Adam Movie
There are a lot of movies that Warner Bros. and DC have announced that haven't had any movement in a long time. One of those movies is the Black Adam movie starring Dwayne Johnson. He was originally supposed to appear in Shazam! but they decided back in 2017 to give the villain his own movie. Johnson is currently doing the press rounds for his movie Skyscraper, but Variety asked him about the Black Adam movie to see if there's been any movement with it.
"Black Adam is coming along. The script is coming along. I'm very happy with it. That's a project that obviously you want to take your time [with]. I think it's in a very exciting time now, with DC, because there's some rejiggering going on." Johnson said. "There's reconfiguration going on. There's looking at the macro map of the DC universe. And I know those guys are working diligently at DC and Warner Bros too, working closely with our producers too, to see how Black Adam unfolds in the universe. But yeah. I mean, I'm excited about it. It's just coming along and being written."
So it sounds like Black Adam still exists despite the fact that DC is reportedly changing their entire cinematic universe. Shazam! is due out next year, and we should be seeing a first look for the movie sometime soon perhaps during Warner Bros. Hall H presentation at San Diego Comic-Con.
