Jeph Loeb On The Defenders Connecting To The MCU

jephloebThe onslaught of new for Marvel's The Defenders coming out of EW.com continues as the head of Marvel TV addresses some of the outstanding questions like how the Defenders fit into the MCU as a whole and if he's afraid of superhero fatigue.

Starting with where the Netflix series characters fit in with the overall Marvel Studios universe:

You're trying to trap me into saying, '#itsallconnected.' If the story warrants it, we will obviously do our best to have folks cross into each other's story lines. We certainly communicate with each other in terms of what we're doing and what we have planned and the characters that we're using and where it's all going.

As for if he's afraid that fans are getting tired of all these different heroes:

I don't know that you'd be asking this question if we were a medical show or a law show or a cop show.

He continued, addressing the difference between what they are doing and what DC is doing on the CW:

I think the other part that separates us from, let's just say, our distinguished competition is that we take place in a very real, grounded world. We've always said that there is a fifth Defender, and that is New York.
