Jon Favreau Talks About His Pleasure In Returning As Happy Hogan In Spider-Man: Homecoming
I've always enjoyed Jon Favreau in the Marvel films. Happy Hogan is a delight when he is on screen, especially when paired with Robert Downey Jr. However, we will next be seeing the character elsewhere.
It was announced not that long ago that Favreau would be returning to the character in Spider-Man: Homecoming, which seems like a good pairing to me, especially with the titular character being a protégé of Iron Man. Speaking to Yahoo Movies, Faverau spoke about enjoying coming back to the character and universe, saying:
Now, in Spider-Man:Homecoming, coming back and reuniting with the characters as an actor — it's a lot of fun. It allows me to maintain the relationship with the MCU, but also to do other things that are interesting that are outside of that genre and that set of characters.
He added:
Yeah. It's fun to come back as an actor. Especially when the filmmakers are taking care of you, and taking care of the characters and the story. If you're in good hands, it's great to come in and play in somebody else's world. That's how I started, as an actor. I really enjoy being on other people's sets, especially if I have cool things to do. It's all the fun and much less of the responsibility.
As I said, I always like Hogan in the universe, and I like most of what Favreau does too, so this is a win for me. I hope we see a lot of him in the future.
