Madame Web: These 5 Character Posters Are Extremely Low Effort
Sony Pictures has released five new character posters for Madame Web that look like they were made by someone who learned what Photoshop is today.
Article Summary
- Sony's new Madame Web character posters disappoint with their amateur Photoshop aesthetic.
- The marketing missteps continue, overshadowing the film's impressive cast and potential.
- Audiences unfamiliar with the comics may find the Spider-Man-like suits confusing and underwhelming.
- Despite Madame Web's film delays, promotional material lacks the punch needed to excite viewers.
In a move that continues to baffle everyone, Sony has not put out a high-quality image of the ladies from Madame Web in their suits even though the leaks have not been kind, and we could use some better pictures that weren't butchered in Photoshop so they can end up on drink bottle. Instead, we got some new character posters, and while we like some simple designs in our posters, these look like they were made by someone who just got their hands on Photoshop for the first time in their life and figured out how to isolate the colors. They are trying to make certain things pop visually, but it isn't working, and like most things with this film, it comes off as rather low effort. After all of the delays we have seen from this movie and its impressive cast, you would think someone in the marketing team would figure out how to advertise this film to audiences. Right now, anyone who isn't familiar with comic books is just going to be confused as to why several women are running around with suits that kind of resemble Spider-Man.
