Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige on Thor, Cap, Ant Man, Iron Fist, and Stan Lee's Dialog

Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige on Thor, Cap, Ant Man, Iron Fist, and Stan Lee's Dialog As part of a carefully planned media event to promote the debut of the Thor trailer, Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige did a live chat last night for the LA Times covering a wide range of Marvel movie topics.

Though we'll forgiving him for demonstrating that he has perhaps only a slightly better mastery of the more obscure characters in his portfolio than one of his counterparts at Warner Bros Animation did recently (and what's up with that, hm? These guys should have to take a test — somebody get Mark Waid and Kurt Busiek to work on putting together some study guides), he did drop lots of juicy tidbits on upcoming Marvel Studios business.

Here are some hilights:

KevinFeige: Hey RealIrOnMaN, you know what, the best part about making an Iron Man movie is deciding which of his many armors to debut. Joss would kill me if I gave anything away, but I will say that the evolution you saw his armor take in IM2 will continue in The Avengers.

KevinFeige: Thanks Ben, The Thor and Cap movies are really about our distinct origin stories for two of our most famous characters. As long as people are excited to find hidden secrets, we'll continue to hide them.

KevinFeige: Don't worry Spidey616, people looking for a reference to Don Blake in the Thor film will find one.

KevinFeige: Gordon, I have not been shy about my love for Dr. Strange, Black Panther, and Luke Cage.

KevinFeige: Alex, Punisher's back in house, and various plans are in the works.

KevinFeige: Hey marvelfandan, our primary job is doing justice to the title characters, but we do have someone who's got a large chart that spans across his office wall tracking the continuity. It's pretty cool. Maybe we'll publish it one day.

KevinFeige: Chris McAvey… Have no fear. Captain America will throw his mighty shield– IN 3D!

[Comment From Jason] Hey Kevin, any real reason why the old english dialect was abandoned for the Thor movie? fear it wouldn't work? worked well in romeo + Juliet.
KevinFeige: Hey Jason, as much as I love Stan the man's Shakespearean dialect, we felt it would be over-bearing. However, our director Kenneth Branagh has a great ear for the English language and I think you'll find that the Asgardian speak is appropriately regal.

KevinFeige: Andy, Iron Man's a love story, isn't it.

KevinFeige: Suzanne, I love female heroes too and would love to bring many more to the big screen in the future.

KevinFeige: I love Jessica Jones. Good choice Spidey616.

KevinFeige: Squirrel girl?

[Comment From Senor Whopperpants]
HELL YES SQUIRREL GIRL!

[Comment From Sharky]
You don't know about Squirrel Girl? Come on, Kev.

KevinFeige: Hey Kara, Natalie and Chris have amazing chemistry in the film. After an early cut, Bendis told me it was the best romantic chemistry in a Marvel movie.

[Comment From Alex]
Kevin, are you guys open to R-rated superhero films? Maybe a future Punisher film, kind of like the one from 2004, which i thought was awesome. Also like War zone.
KevinFeige: Alex, We're definitely open to it. Blade was a great franchise for us.

[Comment From Guest]
Kev, any word on when we'll be getting more Cap pics/footage? And what's the status on the ten-minute shorts before the upcoming films?
KevinFeige: Guest, The shorts rumor was just a rumor, but we do like the idea. More Cap pics coming early next year.

[Comment From Aaron]
Who is your pick for Iron Fist Movie? and will it be based on Ed Brubaker/Fraction's Run?
KevinFeige: Hey Aaron, the movie is definitely inspired by that great run.

[Comment From JackoWacko] What's status of Edgar Wright's Ant-Man?
KevinFeige: JackoWacko, Edgar was here a few days ago. He's already working on the next draft.

KevinFeige: Ant R, Moonknight's a challenging, but extremely interesting character. We've been discussing various versions of it for years.

KevinFeige: TonyVonDoom, love marvel Zombies, but don't think a Zombie TV show would ever work… haha.
[Comment From Steve]
Any idea of when Ant-Man will go into production? After The Avengers? After Iron Man 3?
KevinFeige: Steve, sometime after The Avengers.

KevinFeige: Jeff, Bucky plays an important part in the film. Sebastian Stan's done a tremendous job playing him.

[Comment From Kojo]
Mr. Fiege are there plans for Black Panther in the immediate future? With Chiwetel Ejiofor perhaps?
KevinFeige: Kojo, things are in the works.

[Comment From Dechiriko]
I was wondering if with Norton off how much from The Incredible Hulk actors and events will be considered for future movies?
KevinFeige: Dechiriko, The Incredible Hulk is MCU canon.

[Comment From Chris McAvey]
Question regarding Captain America: Will there be any references to the Invaders?
KevinFeige: Chris McAvey, while there's no Invaders, there's lots of Howling Commandos!
